Wilkes University invites applicants for a Psychologist in the Health and Wellness Center. This position/classification is considered a critical/essential position within the University's Health and Wellness Center as an essential responder to an emergency (unplanned event) or threat thereof, which disrupts operations within the university.

The successful candidate is responsible for:

  • Providing direct psychological services to University students including individual counseling; conducting clinical assessments and formulating diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Providing walk-in emergency assessments, crisis intervention, and intakes for students; offering group counseling/workshops; providing consultative services to family members and campus community constituents.
  • Completing intake summaries, psychological assessments, emergency evaluations, progress notes, termination of services according to the established policies and procedures.
  • Participating in outreach to assist in the delivery of mental healthcare information to the Wilkes community.
  • Developing and presenting educational and preventative mental health programs and workshops to students.
  • Participating in Behavioral Threat Assessments, especially those concerning student well-being.
  • Engaging in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • May conduct psychological assessment, administer and interpret a variety of psychological assessment inventories, and prepare reports.


  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA Accredited Clinical or Counseling Psychology program with an APA accredited internship. A 3-5-year post licensure Psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience in University Counseling Center work is preferred, including initial intakes, assessments and brief therapy, crisis intervention, group therapy, supervision, outreach and community interventions as well as experience working with collaborative partner's on-campus.
  • Preferably 5-10 years' experience in the college/university setting.
  • Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
