Wilkes University invites applications for a Gift Officer in the department of Advancement. The Advancement team is responsible for building relationships, creating awareness and generating support for Wilkes University. Utilizing best practices in our discipline, we strive to ensure alumni and friends understand and value the mission that inspires us. The Gift Officer is responsible for creating and implementing cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for an assigned group of donors and potential donor prospects. The Gift Officer will utilize a strategic moves management process with goals for increasing donor commitments. The successful candidate will be expected to travel extensively and maintain a detailed record of contacts, progress and next steps planning.  

The primary focus of the Gift Officer will be to increase the percentage of alumni givers and cultivate new and existing relationships, maintain a portfolio of donor relationships, and conduct approximately 100 personal visits with prospective donors each year. In addition, successfully track record of secured commitments between $1,000 - $15,000, organize and implement a communications strategy, document communications, participate in the planning of and attend various special events and alumni relations activities. 

Minimally required: a Bachelor's Degree, a professional work experience with progressive responsibilities and at least 2 years of university/college development office experience, knowledge of constituent relationship management, donor motivation techniques and cultivation strategies. This position requires, superior interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and proficient computer skills.
