Wilkes University invites applicants for the position of Bursar in the Controller's Office.

The successful candidate is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and coordination of the activities of student accounts, third party receivables, and related collection activities as well as assisting with the treasury management function for the University. The Bursar will oversee all activities associated with the student receivable system and is responsible for accurate billing and timely collection of tuition and fees, proper accounting of tuition, fees, other cash receipts, and disbursement of scholarship and loan funds. The position is also responsible for the development and continual improvement of the business processes associated with accounts receivable and cash management. The Bursar will assist the Controller with various treasury functions including liquidity management, cash recording, and cash forecasting. A BA or BS degree in Accounting or Business Administration and 5-7 years of experience, preferably in higher education, supplemented by experience in accounting, banking, accounts receivable and collections is required. Knowledge of FERPA privacy laws, student loans/Title IV, cashiering, and compliance reporting is also required. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication, organization, motivational, and computer skills; experience with Banner (ERP system) a plus. The ideal candidate will have prior management experience in accounts receivables and treasury management. 

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
