Wilkes University invites applicants for a 9-month Faculty of Practice position in the Undergraduate Education Department in the College of Health and Education beginning in August 2023. The Faculty of Practice role focuses on teaching, advising, and service. Scholarship in this role is not required but encouraged.

The School of Education provides opportunities for students to grow academically and professionally. The program promotes an appreciation for diversity, child development, as well as a regard for research-based and innovative practices. The ethics of service and dedication are expected of Teacher Education students to meet the unique needs of all students within the learning community.

The successful candidate is responsible for instruction of education coursework in face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the PK-4 and Middle Level/ Secondary Education Professional Development School (PDS) experiences. These experiences require on-site supervision, collaboration with K-12 administration and teachers, and ongoing communication with full time and adjunct faculty.

A master's degree in education with a minimum of three years experience in teaching in K-12 public education organizations and higher education teaching experience is required. Additional skills needed include successful collaboration with others and effective and inclusive communication skills. Experience in online course development and online teaching is preferred. This is an on-campus position, the successful candidate will be required to be present on the Wilkes campus.
