Wilkes University invites applicants for part time, hourly, substitute teaching positions in the Intensive English Program (IEP).   The Intensive English Program (IEP) at Wilkes provides high quality instruction in English as a second language (ESL) to international students planning to pursue university studies in America. To this end, the program provides students with curricula, classroom materials, and teaching methods well-grounded in the latest theory, research, and practice of second language learning and teaching.

The successful candidate is responsible for providing substitute services should a full time instructor be ill, or unavailable to teach, it can include teaching from 1 to 5 hours a day in the Intensive English Program. Substitutes would teach a variety of ESL classes, including reading, writing, listening/speaking, grammar and vocabulary, at multiple levels (we have levels from beginner to advanced).  Currently we are looking to build our pool of potential substitute teachers. 

A Master's Degree in TESOL, or equivalent,  is required.   The ideal candidate will have prior experience teaching English as a Second Language, preferably in an academic setting or internationally. Salary is is commensurate with qualification and experience.
