Wilkes University seeks a collaborative, enterprising and strategic leader for the School of Education to serve as a 12-month Assistant Dean/Assistant Professor. Wilkes University's School of Education (SOE) prepares candidates for a leadership role in their chosen education field. This is an exceptional opportunity as Wilkes University is a primary innovative leader in the state for teacher education. The Assistant Dean will convey a sense of fairness, transparency and inclusion while managing program assessment, policy development, and continuous improvement across the School to achieve our mission. The successful candidate serves as a project champion for accreditation endeavors, among others, across all three departments. The School oftentimes meets educational needs through partnership development. The Assistant will support the Dean and the School in student, faculty, and partner recruitment and retention plus funding resource management. In additional to these responsibilities, the candidate will teach each fall, spring, and summer semester.

An earned doctorate degree in education or related field is required. Teacher or administrative certification and experience required. Candidates will demonstrate higher education teaching experience among a strong record of successful teaching, demonstrated educational contributions and shared leadership. This highly motivated individual must demonstrate effective written and oral communication.
